Ann Hanus

Retired Economist, State of Oregon

Before retiring in 2013, Ann served with the Association of Oregon Counties as well as the states of Oregon and Ohio. Her earlier roles included State Economist, Assistant State Forester, State Budget Administrator, Director of the Department of State Lands, Community Development Manager, and Policy Manager for the Association of Oregon Counties. 


Across those positions, Ann prepared economic and revenue forecasts, worked on forest and environmental issues, oversaw the Common School Fund and public lands, managed community development infrastructure funds, and focused on economic development, transportation, and public finance.  She holds BS and MS degrees in consumer economics from Ohio State University. 


Ann lives in Salem, Oregon, and serves on the Salem Unitarian Universalist Congregation’s Microfinance Committee, where she supports efforts to help women and families move toward sustainable income.  She also serves on the Oregon Trail Coalition Advisory Committee as a representative of the Salem Chemeketans, the city’s oldest and largest outdoor organization.
