We approach Guatemala with the same principle that guides all of our work: lasting progress grows when we strengthen trusted local efforts rather than duplicate them. In 2024, that commitment led us to Chimaltenango, where we began building a program centered on economic opportunity for Mayan women.
Empowering Mayan Women, Enriching Communities
Across Guatemala, many Mayan women carry major responsibility for their households and communities while still having limited access to affordable capital and practical business support. Our work is designed to stand beside these women with tools that can help them expand income, strengthen stability, and invest in the future of their families.
By partnering with local organizations, we build on work that is already trusted in the community. Affordable microloans, business coaching, and skill-building support allow us to reinforce existing relationships while helping generate meaningful economic progress.
Our Approach
- Tailored Support: We work side by side with local partners to identify where loans, coaching, and training can add the most value. The goal is to strengthen what already exists, not replace it.
- Sustainable Impact: We focus on tools that can create durable results. When women gain access to practical support and working capital, the benefits can extend well beyond one business or one household.
- Collaboration and Respect: We value the experience, traditions, and leadership already present in Mayan communities. Our work is shaped through partnership and respect so that support remains culturally grounded and locally relevant.
