Ron Hockley

Ron’s route to leading The NEO Fund has taken him from rural Alaska to work in more than 40 countries. With a Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Studies, his long-term commitment to development work began during a year-long internship in the Philippines, an experience that shaped his dedication to practical and compassionate change.

Ron has founded five nonprofit organizations across Europe, Latin America, and the United States, and brings broad experience in leadership, international development, and poverty reduction. He started The NEO Fund in one of the most difficult settings imaginable and helped build it into a microfinance organization serving communities in Guatemala, India, and Nicaragua. His varied background across manufacturing, technology, hospitality, and coaching gives him a practical and empathetic leadership style.
